Tracy-le-Val est un village situé entre l’Oise et l’Aisne, il fut repris par les nôtres aux Allemands, mais ces dernieres revenant en nombre essayèrent de le reconquérir ; ils y réussirent d’abord et d’un élan irrésistible ils emportèrent la première ligne des tranchées françaises, et de précipitèrent dans le village, mais là ils furent reçus par les troupes indigènes : ces merveilleux soldats se précipitèrent sur leur adversaires avec une furie impossible à décrire et changèrent leur victoire en déroute. Non seulement les vaillantes troupes indigènes reprirent le terrain perdu, mais elles infligèrent une terrible correction à l’ennemi (Novembre 1914)
The combat of Tracy-le-Val. How indigenous troops regained Tracy-le-Val
Tracy-le-Val is a village between the rivers Oise and Aisne. It was taken back from the Germans, but the last of them came back and tried to re-conquer the land. At first they succeeded and due to an unstoppable momentum they took the first line of French trenches and rushed into the village. But they were met there by the indigenous soldiers - these wonderful soldiers rushed towards their opponents with a fury impossible to describe and changed their victory into a rout. The French troops not only regained lost ground, but they inflicted a fearsome beating on the enemy (November 1914).
