PENDANT LA BATAILLE DES TROIS RIVIÈRES. UNE PATROUILLE DE TERRITORIAUX SURPREND UN GROUPE DE PILLARDS.
Avec une vigueur extraordinaire les territoriaux donnent la chasse aux pillards qui se trouvent disséminés sur le territoire et séparés du gros de leur armée. C’est ainsi que dans un village situé près d’Epernay, une patrouille composée de quelques territoriaux, commandée par un caporal a anéanti un groupe de ulhans qui s’adonnaient au pillage: ils s’apprétaient à fuir, mais nos soldats ne leur laissèrent pas le temps de se mettre en selle: ils foncèrent sur eux courageusement
During the Battle of the Three Rivers. A patrol of territorial soldiers surprises a group of looters.
With extraordinary vigour the territorial [soldiers] give chase to the robbers who are scattered over the territory and are separated from the bulk of their army. Thus in a village located near Epernay, a patrol of some territorial [soldiers] commanded by a corporal, annihilated a group of Uhlans who had indulged in looting. They were about to flee but our soldiers left them no time to get into the saddle. They swooped on them courageously
